Server backups

Create recovery points for roles, channels, permissions and OkayBot settings.

Overview

Server backups help recover configuration after accidental changes. Repair restore recreates missing objects and restores saved ones without automatically deleting newer objects that were created later.

Requirements

  • okay needs Manage Roles and Manage Channels for the parts you want restored.
  • The okay bot role must be high enough to manage restored roles.

Setup

  1. Create a recovery point before a large change.
  2. Optionally enable automatic backups.
  3. Choose a backup and start Restore when recovery is needed.
  4. Review restore warnings afterwards.

Notes

  • Managed integration roles cannot be recreated like normal roles.
  • Message history is not a server configuration backup.
